Interlibrary Loan Request
All ILL request need to be submitted in writing to the Burkburnett Library. You can print a ILL Request form here or stop by the library and pick one up. The patron will be contacted once their request has been filled or if it is not available for borrowing. Special request will be at the discretion of the Burkburnett Library staff and if approved could take longer than the standard 6 week waiting period.
Requirements for eligibility for ILL requests:
1. Must be a patron with us (hold a Burkburnett Library Card) for at least 6 months
2. Must be in good standing with our library (i.e. no fines or outstanding overdues) for 6 months
3. Material you are requesting needs to be submitted in writing on an ILL Request form
4. Lost or Damaged material fees will be the requesting patron’s responsibility
5. Any fees/fines accrued will be the requesting patron’s responsibility
6. If you have been delinquent, damaged borrow material, or lost borrowed materials you will not be eligible for the ILL program in the future.
Copyright Restrictions Warning
The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archived are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not be “used for any purposed other than private study, scholarship, or research”. If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use”, that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if in its judgment; fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the Copyright law..
